Andhra Pradesh Woman Dies After Receiving Wrong Blood Type At Govt Hospital

A 34-year-old kidney patient died at Kakinada Government General Hospital (GGH), after she received wrong blood type. This raised serious concerns over medical negligence at the hospital. Bhavana Sirisha was a resident of Palakollu in West Godavari. Doctors recommended a blood transfusion. Required blood type was ‘O positive’, but a house surgeon transfused ‘AB positive’ blood instead.
