Steel Imports From China To India Have Reached Record Levels

India’s finished steel imports from China hit an all-time high in the first eight months of the fiscal year to March 2025, provisional government data showed, raising concerns among domestic mills about cheap supplies from China. Total imports of finished steel reached an eight-year high with India, the world’s second-largest producer of crude steel, a net importer during the period.
