Center Requests Madrasa To Be Shifted From Jama Masjid

Center requested Karnataka High Court to instruct state authorities to clear madrasa activities from the historic Jama Masjid. This request comes in response to a PIL alleging “unauthorised madrasa activities” within the mosque premises. Centre said that Jama Masjid was declared a protected monument in 1951, and yet madrasa operations continue there without authorization.
