SC Criticizes Delhi Police For Failing To Enforce Pollution Measures

Supreme Court criticized the Delhi Police for not setting up enough checkpoints at city borders to enforce pollution control measures. Justice AS Oka’s bench deemed it a “serious lapse” and warned of possible prosecution of the Delhi Police Commissioner under the Commission for Air Quality Management Act. Police had only 23 checkpoints instead of the required number during Stage 4 of GRAP.
