CBDT Extends Income Tax Filing Deadline To Dec 15 For FY 2023-24

In an alert to employees and businesspeople, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the income tax payment deadline by 15 days compared to last financial year. As a result, income tax returns for the financial year 2023-24 can now be filed by December 15, 2024. The due date for filing income tax returns has been extended under Section 139(1) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
