Bannerghatta Park Faces Threat From Reduced Eco Zone

A Supreme Court-appointed panel will visit Bengaluru’s Bannerghatta National Park today to review plans for reducing its eco-sensitive zone. The protected area was cut from 268.9 to 168.8 sq km in 2018. Activists warn this may expose the forest to mining and real estate threats. A petition challenging the move is under review.
