Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV, the 24th Maharaja of Mysore who ruled from 1902 to 1940, was a food lover. Kakasura Madappa, the chief cook, prepared a sweet using sugar, peanut flour, ghee, and cardamom to introduce the king to a new taste. The king enjoyed it and asked for its name. The cook named it ‘Mysore Paka’ in honor of king’s kingdom. Over time, it became known as ‘Mysore Pak’.
