US Court Blocks Deportation Of Man Freed After 43 Years

2 US courts have halted the deportation of Subramanyam “Subu” Vedam, whose wrongful murder conviction was overturned after more than 43 years in prison. An immigration judge granted a stay while the Board of Immigration Appeals reviews his case, which may take months. The US District Court in Pennsylvania also issued a temporary stay pending the appeal.
