A forensic report confirmed that 10 elephants found dead at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh died due to poisoning from consuming fungal-infected kodo millet. The toxic substance, cyclopean organic acid, is produced when kodo crops spoil. Authorities are investigating whether the fungal infection was natural or man-made.
