Amid WAQF Bill Row, Maharashtra Allocates ₹10 Crores To State WAQF Board

Maharashtra government allotted ₹10 crore to enhance the functioning and infrastructure of state’s Waqf board. This comes amid protests by Muslim outfits and Opposition parties over the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024. The bill was mired in controversy since its introduction in August. The bill proposes significant changes to Waqf properties management, including renaming the Waqf Act.
