Punjab & Haryana HC Orders Action Against Cop,₹2 Lakh Compensation

Punjab and Haryana High Court directed departmental action against a cop and awarded Rs 2 lakh compensation to a man illegally arrested by Punjab Police for not making way to a police vehicle. The court condemned the “high-handedness” of the Punjab Police and ordered Rs 1 lakh of the compensation to be recovered from a Sub Inspector’s salary.
