Idukki Faces Torrential Rains, 13 Dam Shutters Lifted

Heavy rains in Kerala’s Idukki district have raised Mullaperiyar dam’s water level to 138 meters, prompting the release of 14 shutters. Kallar Dam shutters were also opened. Severe waterlogging affects Kattappana, Nedumkandam, and Kumily. The IMD issued yellow alerts for 11 districts, warning of heavy rain, floods, and thunderstorms, urging caution near rivers.
