Coastal Shipping Bill Introduced In Lok Sabha Today

The Coastal Shipping Bill, 2024, aimed at boosting coastal trade and involving Indian-flagged vessels for national security and commercial purposes, was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Despite opposition protests over Sambhal violence and the Adani issue, the bill was passed through a voice vote amid ongoing disruptions in the House.
