China Tightens Control, Boosts Military Presence At Larung Gar Academy

China has deployed 400 troops and initiated helicopter surveillance at Larung Gar Buddhist Academy in Serthar County, Tibet, to strengthen control, according to the Central Tibetan Administration. Established in 1980, the academy, a key hub for Tibetan Buddhist studies, faces growing restrictions amidst govt efforts to curb Tibetan autonomy.
