Ex-IAS Kannan Gopinathan Joins Congress Party

Former IAS officer Kannan Gopinathan joined the Congress in New Delhi, welcomed by K.C. Venugopal and Pawan Khera. He had resigned in 2019 to protest the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. At the time, he served as secretary in key departments of Dadra and Nagar Haveli.His entry is seen as a boost to Congress’s stance on civil rights.
