The Andhra Pradesh Excise Department has proposed reducing the prices of premium and imported liquor in Andhra Pradesh. Officials say liquor prices are higher than in neighbouring states, which affects sales and increases illegal transport. If the state cabinet approves, prices of about 20 expensive brands could drop by up to ₹3,000 per bottle.
