Mahanadi Water Tribunal Gets 9-Month Extension

The Centre has extended the Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal tenure by nine months till January 13, 2027, to resolve the Mahanadi River water-sharing dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh. The decision, notified by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, follows delays due to COVID-19, vacancies, ensuring continued hearings and negotiations toward a final settlement.
