Star actor Vijay Antony turns 50 on Wednesday, and he was born on July 24, 1975, in Nagercoil in the Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu. He made his movie debut in ‘Naan’ in 2012.
Antony was brought up by his mother after his father committed suicide when he was just 7 years old. He set up an audio studio now called ‘Audio Infotainment’, and he worked as a sound engineer.
Vijay is best known for his roles in big action thriller movies such as Naan, Salim in 2014, and Pichaikkaran in 2016. He is a music composer, actor, film editor, lyricist, audio engineer, and director working mainly in Kollywood.
He worked in the 2017 political action crime thriller ‘Yaman’, which was directed by Jeeva Shankar. His next film, ‘Annadurai’ in the same year, was an action film drama that got mixed reviews.
He starred in the popular movie ‘Kaali’ in 2018 and Kolaigaran in 2019. He also made his directorial debut with ‘Pichaikkaran 2’ in 2023.
Antony is married to Fatima Antony, and the couple has two daughters, namely, Meera and Lara.
