The Centre has proposed bringing Chandigarh under the category of Union Territories where the President can directly issue orders and laws. For this, a bill to amend Article 131 of the Constitution will be introduced in this winter session of Parliament. At present, Chandigarh remains under the administrative supervision of the Governor of Punjab.
Zeeshan Siddique, son of late minister Baba Siddique, had Y-category security after his father’s assassination. His security has now been reduced to only two guards.
