The government said India has enough onions and there is no shortage. To help consumers, onions are being sold at Rs 35 per kg through NCCF, NAFED and Kendriya Bhandar outlets, mobile vans and online platforms. In Delhi, sales have started at 40 locations. The government plans to expand the network and control rising prices.
