The Supreme Court today agreed to hear a plea challenging police use of facial recognition technology at Delhi's Jantar Mantar during the CJP protest. The petition alleges mass surveillance violates fundamental rights and free assembly. The court sought responses from the Centre, Delhi Police, NCRB and two private companies and listed the matter for August 18.
