The Centre has directed Ola, Uber and Rapido to remove pre-ride tipping options from their apps. The government said passengers should be allowed to tip only after completing the journey. It also warned that tipping features must not mislead or manipulate users or violate consumer protection laws, under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
