Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar today said Kannada activists had withdrawn their call for a statewide bandh. Ahead of the Assembly session, he said he met the activists and thanked them for maintaining peace. Shivakumar called the day significant as the first Assembly session since becoming Chief Minister, and pledged continued cooperation as "Team Karnataka."
