The Lok Sabha today passed the Kerala Bill, 2026, seeking to rename the state as 'Keralam.' The legislation follows a resolution adopted by the Kerala Assembly in June 2024 and forwarded to the Centre. Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said the bill provides for the name change and necessary constitutional and consequential amendments.
