Maharashtra FDA chief Tukaram Mundhe has gained global attention after The New York Times highlighted his strict food safety drive. Known for his tough action, Mundhe has ordered inspections, licence suspensions and food seizures across the state. Between September 23 and 27, the FDA seized over 50,600 kg of food worth Rs 1.19 crore.
