The Northeast recorded its driest southwest monsoon in 125 years, receiving 1,017.1 mm of rainfall during June-Sept. Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh faced deficient rainfall throughout all four months. The region also experienced an unusually warm Sept, with temperatures 0.74°C above normal, while October rainfall is expected to remain below normal.
