HAL handed over LCA Tejas twin-seater trainers and the first series-production HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft to the Indian Air Force, plus Dhruv NG helicopters to Pawan Hans. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called it a landmark step towards self-reliance in defence. The Tejas trainer is a 4.5-generation aircraft, while the HTT-40 is an indigenous basic trainer.
