KTR Urges Sitharaman Not To Tax UPI Transactions

BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao urged Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman not to tax UPI transactions, warning it could hurt young entrepreneurs and small businesses. On X, he said UPI powers youth side hustles and freelancing, and taxing it may push people back to cash. The government has set a 0.4% MDR on person-to-merchant UPI payments above Rs 2,000.
