The RBI absorbed Rs 3.93 lakh crore through a VRRR auction to manage excess liquidity in the banking system. Banks offered Rs 3.93 lakh crore against the Rs 5 lakh crore notified amount. The RBI accepted all bids at a 5.24% rate. It is using such auctions and bond sales to control surplus funds and maintain stable short-term rates.
