Kang Kon Destroyer Joins North Korean Navy

North Korea has commissioned its 5,000-ton naval destroyer Kang Kon as Kim Jong-un pushes to strengthen the country's maritime forces. Kim described the vessel as an offensive destroyer and part of North Korea's nuclear counteraction system. The ship joins the East Sea Fleet, following the commissioning of sister destroyer Choe Hyon earlier this year.
