Dr. Dinesh Sharma, 62, has been appointed Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands after a long political career. A BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, he previously served as UP Deputy Chief Minister from 2017 to 2022 and Mayor of Lucknow. A former University of Lucknow professor, Sharma has also held several key organisational positions within the BJP.
