President Murmu has appointed senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Dinesh Sharma as Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Sharma, a former UP Deputy CM and two-time Lucknow Mayor, brings extensive administrative and academic experience. His appointment takes effect from the date he assumes charge, Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
