Tamil Nadu CM Vijay To Release Mettur Water From Sept 1

Tamil Nadu CM Vijay is set to release water from the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur from Sept 1 for Cauvery delta irrigation. The 45-day release will depend on reservoir storage and inflows. The govt said inadequate rainfall and low inflows from Karnataka have affected water availability, while drinking-water needs and state's Cauvery water share remain concerns.
