The Afghanistan Premier League (APL) is scheduled to return on Dec 27, coinciding with the Big Bash League (BBL) and SA20. The Afghanistan Cricket Board has unveiled 3 franchises: Excel United Kabul, Balkh Jwanan and Kandahar Warriors. The tournament launch was held in Dubai, while venues will be announced soon. The APL's inaugural season took place in 2018.
