SC Backs ECI's 2002 Base Year In Sikkim SIR

The Supreme Court today refused to interfere with the Election Commission's decision to use 2002 as the base year for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Sikkim. Dismissing a PIL seeking 1993 as the base year, the bench said the ECI had uniformly adopted 2002 nationwide and suggested the petitioner approach the poll panel for any exemption.
