Former BCCI secretary Jay Shah played a key role in developing the Centre of Excellence from 40 acres of unused land in Bengaluru. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and VVS Laxman praised his efforts in clearing legal hurdles and overseeing construction. The world-class facility became operational in November 2024 after nearly two years of work.
