The Supreme Court asked the Justice Gita Mittal-led panel to verify claims that around 24,000 families affected by Manipur’s 2023 ethnic violence are yet to receive rehabilitation benefits. The court also sought verification of property and worship-site claims and considered special courts for CBI and NIA cases. The violence has killed over 200 people.
