Ex-TMC MLA Sanat Dey Arrested Over Extortion Case

Former Naihati MLA and Trinamool Congress leader Sanat Dey was arrested in Duttapukur over extortion, intimidation and land grabbing charges. Police traced him after receiving a tip-off, following searches of his home and pharmacy. Dey, who won the Naihati seat in a 2024 by-poll, is also facing other criminal cases and will be produced before Barrackpore Court.
