India Okays Massive ₹1.25 Lakh Cr Chip Mission Outlay

The Finance Ministry's Expenditure Finance Committee has approved a ₹1.25 lakh crore outlay for India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0, which will now go to the Union Cabinet for final approval. The expanded scheme aims to boost chip manufacturing, strengthen the supply chain, and reduce import dependence, targeting 75% domestic semiconductor demand by 2030.
