PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss urged the Tamil Nadu government to provide uninterrupted three-phase electricity to delta farmers. He said kuruvai paddy crops in Cauvery-irrigated districts are drying due to lack of water and power for borewell pumps. Ramadoss demanded at least 18 hours of power daily and a Rs 5,000 per-acre subsidy for affected farmers.
