West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced plans for an SIT probe led by a sitting Calcutta High Court judge into the Chorbagan Durga Puja stampede that killed 19 people. He said the government is reviewing safety lapses and supporting victims’ families. Adhikari also promised steps to improve crowd management and prevent similar tragedies.
