Rising Rice Prices Draw Outside Traders To Telangana

Rice prices are rising, attracting traders from Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to buy paddy directly from Telangana farmers. They offer Rs 4,000–4,600 per quintal, above the govt’s minimum support price. Meanwhile, fine rice prices in Hyderabad have reached Rs 85–90 per kg, raising fears of further increases and higher household expenses.
