Veteran actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty has been appointed as an advisor to the West Bengal government with the rank of a Cabinet Minister. He will advise the Information and Cultural Affairs Department. The appointment is effective immediately and will continue until further orders. The decision gives the actor a new government role.
