The BJP has named Dinesh Arya as its Rajya Sabha candidate from Uttarakhand and Koel Mallick for the by-election in West Bengal. Voting for both seats will be held on October 16. The BJP is expected to win both seats because of its strong numbers in the state Assemblies. The Bengal seat became vacant after Mallick resigned from Parliament earlier this year.
