UPI transactions slightly declined in September to 24.07 billion, valued at ₹29.37 lakh crore. However, average daily volumes actually increased compared to August. Meanwhile, a 0.4% Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) capped at ₹300 will take effect on October 15 for merchant payments over ₹2,000, leaving standard user-to-user transfers completely.
