Akhilesh Yadav said SP and Congress will contest UP 2027 polls together, but seats will be decided by "winnability", hinting SP wants more seats. Congress leaders said they will not be "suppressed or intimidated". Both parties won 43 of 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP in 2024. Congress and SP last contested assembly polls together in 2017.
