The government has reconstituted the CBFC with 18 new members, including actors Preity Zinta, Pankaj Tripathi, Suniel Shetty, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Pallavi Joshi, plus filmmaker Priyadarshan and composer Ricky Kej. The board certifies films for public exhibition under the Cinematograph Act, 1952, and operates through nine regional offices nationwide.
