The Election Commission has recognised actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as a state party in Tamil Nadu and reserved the whistle symbol for it. TVK won 108 of 234 seats and received 34.92% of votes in the 2026 Assembly election. The decision gives the party a permanent identity for future elections in Tamil Nadu.
