Railway Minister Vaishnaw said that India’s first indigenous bullet train is expected to begin trials by May or June next year. After 2 to 4 months of testing, commercial operations could begin. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor is progressing quickly, with the Surat-Vapi section expected by December. The train could connect Vadodara and Mumbai in 90 minutes.
