Tamil Nadu CM Joseph Vijay gifted his Dior sunglasses, worth around ₹40,000, to an elderly woman during his visit to Salem. He also gave her a saree and distributed clothes to farmers. Earlier, Vijay opened the Mettur Dam gates for irrigation after the water level crossed 90 feet. About 3,000 cusecs of water was released for farmers.
